Fishing looks to be picking back up after the mid week winds. Yesterday morning on I went fishing for fun, hoping that the dirty water would clear soon, and we could catch some fish. Even in the turbid water we managed to catch a few stripers on the South jetty all near 23 inches.
Megan Wills was fishing with me and caught this nice sheepshead that weighed in at 9 lbs. She was using a sand flea.
We then ventured out to a few near shore wrecks and caught some nice triggerfish. These are neat looking fish for those who have never seen them. We caught them using sea clam for bait in about 70 feet of water on an artificial reef. We released most of them , but kept a few to eat as they are really good.
Hoping for some continued success this weekend. Lots of heat forecast will likely limit our fishing to early morning and late evening.
